The Artisphere: Not a normal institution

Here's a little video I made of Ryan Holladay of Bluebrain and Elizabeth Ward of Pink Line Project talking about why they're excited about the Artisphere, which opens on 10-10-10. It's being built inside the former Newseum building in Rosslyn, VA. You know, the big white dome across the Key Bridge from Georgetown?

Elizabeth says it's not going to be a normal arts institution and she's right. It's going to showcase lots of fantastic art like the Washington Shakespeare Company and the Ellipse Arts Center and more. But it's also going to be a town center with a shared work space and super duper wifi so you can have a third place to work and play and meet people and be inspired and get creative.

Ryan says it's a place that can inspire creativity. I agree! So much potential here.

I'm helping them figure out some of the new media stuff they're doing so I'll keep you posted on the progress!
