Dancers in the Park

I continue to be astounded at the level of creativity and initiative that I come across everyday in my forays around DC's creative community. Like this recent collaboration between BLUEBRAIN and Urban Artistry, which absolutely blew me away.  Here's what happened: Bluebrain composed music. Urban Artistry choreographed dance. They performed it in Meridian Park one lovely Sunday summer afternoon. There was one catch: you had to download the music on your personal listening device in order to hear the music to which the dancers were dancing.  Otherwise you'd see lots of dancers dancing in the park to the sound of a gurgling water fountain. Which was also cool and how I experienced the happening.

It was a beautiful, shared experience for so many people. And it was given to us by incredibly talented artists who were not only inspired by a cool idea, but more importantly, they acted on it. Love it. I'm looking forward to lots more from them and from all the other amazing talents I admire all around the DMV.
