Design in the New Economy: Part 1, Response by Juana Medina

Fast Company wrote that there has never been a better time in the last 50 years to be a designer. Designers are at the forefront of American entrepreneurialism using their user focus, strategic vision, iterative methodologies, and propositional thinking to build our future markets. By designers embracing the world of startups, they are already raising the success rate of venture capital from 10% to as high as 80%.  These early results are cause for true optimism.

 

To continue this conversation, we reached out to the District’s designers, innovators and creative thinkers to ask:

 

What role does Design play in the New Economy?
