Drink cocktails to support art education

Something that happens in Washington a lot: fundraisers, fancy galas and dinners, and charity balls. They can be fun ways to support an organization or a cause. Rather than just writing a check, you get to dress up and socialize a little. Some of these events start blurring together though. So it's always nice when an organization comes up with a different concept. Like the Art League's "Art on the Rocks" event, which pits area bartenders against each other in a cocktail throwdown.
Mixologist contestants include a representative from Bastille, Paul Fehn from Chadwick’s, Aisling Fitzpatrick from Columbia Firehouse, returning 2011 Art on the Rocks champion Justin Matlak from the Light Horse Restaurant, Alex McGuinness from Red Rocks Pizza Napoletana, and Brodie Evans from Union Street Public House.
Each mixologist will seek inspiration from the "Color Sphere" exhibit and the audience gets to vote on their favorite. Such a fun way to support artists and The Art League! The Art League has been educating artists since 1954 and offers opportunities at every skill level in many art mediums.
