The Arts Coalition for the Dupont Underground (ACDU) is throwing a giant fundraiser/buzz builder on September 7 to help turn the old streetcar station under Dupont Circle into a world-class center for arts, design and innovative entrepreneurship. The event is above ground at Eastern Market's North Hall with live music, food, cocktails and very special auction prizes.

In between live sets by The Justin Jones Band, Margot MacDonald and Alex Minoff, you can watch the world premiere of Robin Bell’s and DC Setlist's music videos for these artists shot in the Underground. Sample two specialty cocktails from Bombay Sapphire or fill your cups with beer and wine from Star Hill Brewery, Stella Artois and Veritas Vineyard. KIND Snacks and Popchips will supply the munchies. Talk with ACDU board members about new ideas for using 75,000 square feet of subterranean tunnels as vibrant space for special events, pop-ups, exhibitions, installations, wine bars, bookshops and more. Support the cause and grab cool stuff at the silent auction with sponsors including the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art and Design, The Pink Line Project, Our City Film Festival, KIND Snacks, Urban Style Lab, Bombay Sapphire, Marc by Marc Jacobs, local artists like Tara Cronin and more.

General admission starts at 8 pm. If you want to come early for the Ambassadors VIP reception at 6:30, buy tickets online. Visit http://bit.ly/Aboveground for more information including ticket prices with online discounts.

Even if you can't be there September 7, you can bid on auction items like a private party for eight organized by The Pink Line Project featuring DC artists, light dinner, champagne toasting and surprising treats on the Pink Terrace. Other highlights include tickets for Azure Ray at The Hamilton, opening night tickets for the Corcoran's NEXT show, and a VIP Tour of Dupont Underground followed by dinner at Urbana with ACDU Board President Julian Hunt. ACDU is an all volunteer effort and net funds from the event will go to help push the Dupont Underground project forward.
