Kate McGraw Wall Drawing Weekend at Pink Line HQ

To begin the project, Kate had to determine where my heart was.

"The whole process of living is my creative act," said Joseph Beuys. Kate McGraw and I lived that this past weekend when she came back to DC to make a walldrawing in my condo. She spent four days here during which we ate amazing meals with amazing friends (a record three dinners in a row from the Men Cooking In My Kitchen Series!), talked about love and fear and dreams and disappointments, laughed like hell and drank like hell, played with an adorably feisty cat, and made beautiful, powerful art. This weekend was about everything that is awesome and important in life and pretty much sums up what I love about art. I'm still reeling from so much happiness.

Kate calls the project Heartline. Phase 1 is now complete. Phase 2 will take place early 2013. Below are the pictures we Instagrammed to document the weekend. Kate rounded up all the tweets that accompanied each picture we posted here.
