Acre121, Think Local First and Listen Local First Kick-Off Eat Local First Week this Saturday

This Saturday from Think Local First DC (TLF) kicks off a week full of food events – for both consumers and the restaurant industry----at Acre121 with BBQ, Beer, and LIVE Music.  Tickets for the event, co-sponsored by Acre121 and Listen Local First can be purchased online at www.eatlocalfirstdc.com

For $25, attendees will enjoy local BBQ and beer along with live music from local groups:  Young Rapids, Typefighter and Frau Eva.

This is the first of 11 events that focus on local farms, products and the restaurants, organizations and people that are making locally-grown food more accessible in the DC community. Eat Local Week, scheduled for July 14-21 includes the signature Farm-to-Street party, an Industry Panel, the launch of a culinary incubation program.

This year a special effort will be made on the emerging culinary entrepreneurs that are growing the restaurant economy in DC. Washingtonians should prepare to see brick-and-mortar restaurants paired with the emerging class to create the most creative week ever.

About Acre121

Located in Columbia Heights at 1400 Irving Street, NW Acre 121 brings Southern food traditions, craft beers and cocktails, and an approachable wine list in an old-line Washington barroom just steps from the Columbia Heights Metro. The coastal cuisine is complimented by weekly live music, which includes area artists performing a mix of traditional bluegrass, alt-country, and folk rock, among other genres, for a low country flavor with local fusion.
