Recently Inspired: Skyler Javier

Had the opportunity to join designer Skyler Javier at 52 O Street Studios where he creates and innovates for his clothing line Native Danger.

A PG-county native, Skyler splits his time between firefighting (yes, truly) and making clothes. He learned to sew on his own, and had his work picked up by Redeem within in a year of getting serious about the craft. Here's a look at some of the stuff he's already done - I'm especially a fan of his hand-dyed pieces.

Skyler is currently in nose-to-grindstone mode getting ready for the new Native Danger line coming out this fall - stay tuned for details on the finished product and the show.

Loved this storytelling because of the wonderful surprise factor--firefighter/fashion designer! That's the kind of detail that keeps us reading Pink Line. Look forward to seeing more of Mr. Javier's fashions.

Normally I am not interested in fashion, but Skyler's work got my attention. Thanks, Pink Line.
