Sally Hensen Salon Effects Nail Stickers - for real seriously simple to do at home

It's hard to make things snazzy when you're stuck in a navy blue suit every day and/or when you're functioning on an intern (or intern-like, we're giving student loans the evil eye) budget. But ladies, fashion-foward and tame alike, are making things a little more interesting by spending some quality time with their nails.

With Katy Perry and Lady Gaga making headlines, nails are part of popular conversation again. And DC is leading the pack (props to us)! With everyone from normal kids like us to outrageously creative artists (see DECOY), micro style of the nail variety is leading the style pack here in the District - and elsewhere for that matter, we might actually be pioneering a trend. Cue: disbelief in 'fashion' cities

I know we're all spending precious cash splurging on pedicures over the summer, but don't worry, there are plenty of doable at-home ideas to run with when it comes to a manicure. Belgium-born turned Washingtonian artist Alicia Cosnahan, AKA DECOY (whose absolutely beautiful work can be seen all over the District), is most certainly giving us something to aspire to. Flip through the pictures above to see how her designs are taking nails to a new level.

Remember, just a few years ago, anything other than nude, red and pink were apropos. So run with it. Here are some places for inspiration courtesy the internet:
