Project Andini's Video Archive presents "Aside of Audience" by Mioon

Project Andini continues to ad to its culturally engaging Video Archive, which serves as a showcase for diverse selection of video art works. Now, Project Andini is introducing a video work entitled Aside of Audience (2008) by Mioon
Mioon is a project team of Moon Choi and Min Kim who are currently participating at ISCP (International Studio and Curatorial program) in New York. Their video Aside of Audience is a 3-channel video installation consisting of arranged scenes of interviews of 108 people who were asked to act as a professional artist and talk about their works that did not exist. Subjects in the video were also challenged to discuss the problem of communication between art works and audience and the roles the artists play in society.
The intriguing thing about such a conceptual video project is its reflection of the socially accepted ideas about artists - not necessarily the truthful representation of an artist's point of view - thus revealing both prejudices and fantasies that society feels about artists in general.
The current video clip is a short, edited documentation of the video installation that speaks about the message that Mioon strives to deliver in their piece.
Korean art critic Dae-beom Lee wrote an article about the project. Read what he had to say HERE.
