Rad Tuesday Tunes

As I purchased tickets to yet another reunion show by a band that I used to love, I remembered how much I was turned off when indie/underground/college rock bands started reuniting regularly a number of years ago. Man, was that dumb thinking.
Peaking Lights "Beautiful Son"
Hazy, pretty, low key trance out with a great guitar tone.
Marie Queenie Lyons "See And Don't See"
Thank you Afghan Whigs for turning me on to this dark, funky gem. Hear their recently released version here.
Small Black "Photojournalist"
Swirly keyboards and cloudy vocals put me in a good mood.
Frank Ocean "Pyramids"
A ten minute, cosmic, R&B love song to Cleopatra? Yes please.
Quicksand "Dine Alone"
I've seen a lot of shows in my life and Quicksand live in '92 (in the middle of a cornfield in Kansas, in a cinder block room) is one my top ten favorites ever. They reunited a couple of nights ago for a show in LA and now I'm nostalgic for angular, loud guitars and angst.
