Shark Week has been Recently Inspired!

Shark Week has been recently inspired! With the release of their first EP coming out this Friday, I made a point to catch up with this self-described “sweaty rock-n-roll band” of four to see what makes THEM tick. “I think the inspiration of the EP is rooted in our collective love for good, dirty rock n roll,” says bassist Danielle Vu. The Mount Pleasant-based band noted such influences as Wanda Jackson, The Kinks, The Nerves, Cassandra Wong (Crucial Taunt), and Doug Martsch (Built to Spill), as being instrumental to both personal musical endeavors and those of the collective.

What to expect? Ryan (guitar and vocals) drops hints about material covering anything from deep-south benders to old birthday money & Sylvester Stallone.

The EP release party is going down Friday night (August 10) at Montserrat House. Tickets are limited so grab one if you wanna see these dudes. Guaranteed to be a great night – 20 bucks says you’ll see Ryan hanging from the rafters at any point during their set. Wanna bet? Find me. I’ll be at the bar.
