Some fashion tips for one of DC's most delightful events: Tweed Ride

Grab your bicycle and suit up in your finest retro tweed ensemble for the annual DC Tweed Ride and celebration!

I really love the Tweed Ride. It makes everyone smile and laugh as we ride through the streets of DC and it brings people together who would not normally hang out together. It's truly an amazing and beautiful experience that's fun and delightful.

Hosted by Dandies & Quaintrelles and BicycleSPACE, the ride will take place on Sunday, November 13th. The outing will commence at noon and extend for 10 miles. If you can’t make it for the actual ride, you can celebrate the vintage spirit at the post-ride celebration at Smith Commons. The party is expected to get lively around 4pm. The starting point is to be announced tomorrow.

In an effort to help capture the vintage flare of the event, Dandies & Quaintrelles founder, Eric Brewer teamed up with Katie Warren of GoKateShoot and Elise Peterson of It’s Vintage Darling to produce some playful vintage-inspired photographs with a modern twist. Here are a few works to help you pull together your own retro-chic ensemble.

Participants are encourage to add their own personal style to their looks. And while it’s easy to get into to the fashion forward spirit, you might want to keep some functionality in mind. After all, the event is first and foremost, a bike ride. So tweed-up Washingtonians, and ride out in style.
