Josef Palermo
Pink Line Project
Josef Palermo is a cultural producer and arts organizer utilizing his professional background in community organizing to cultivate and activate creative communities in the District of Columbia and surrounding metropolitan area. Josef has been with Pink Line Project as its Chief Community Curator since the summer of 2011, producing arts and cultural events with a focus on the communities in which they serve.
When he’s not organizing the local art community, he’s actively creating within it — from designing two mosaic murals for the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities that are on permanent installation along 14th Street in the Columbia Heights neighborhood, to acting in and producing ALT CTRL, an indie short film shot entirely in the District. Josef is also currently co-authoring a play, among other personal side projects that includes being a founding member of the board of directors for Collective Action For Safe Spaces, a grassroots organization that aims to empower the Washington metropolitan area to build a community free from public sexual harassment and assault.Pinkline Submissions (10)
