The Woman in Me: Femininity and its Construction in Contemporary Culture
Where |Heiner Contemporary
1675 Wisconsin Ave NW
Washington, DC
About This Event
In conjunction with the exhibition Women by Women, Heiner Contemporary is pleased to join forces with The Pink Line Project to present The Woman in Me: Femininity and its Construction in Contemporary Culture.
Join us for what's sure to be a titillating discussion of how the feminine reveals itself in contemporary performance. Musician Yoko K, "boylesque" performer Paco Fish, DJ/educator Ebony Dumas and poet Holly Bass will each offer creative demonstrations of their work before launching into a conversation on topics ranging from the female gaze and the role of seduction to gender-bending and uses of the body in creative production.
