Opening Reception: Artist Teacher Exhibition

About This Event

For many years one of our primary goals in Fairfax County Public Schools has been to seek out and hire candidates who are not only great art teachers, but also great artists. Today there are more than 350 art teachers in FCPS, many of whom continue to practice art-making while sharing their expertise with students. This year the Fine Arts Office is organizing our fourth art exhibition to showcase the amazing talents of our artist-teachers. The fourth annual Artist Teacher Exhibition will be on display at the Ernst Cultural Center at Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus, from October 31 – December 3, 2011, and an opening reception will be held on November 10th from 6-7:30 p.m. Diane Pruner, Director of the Office of Professional and Life Skills, will be speaking. We will have 30 artist/ teachers represented by 46 artworks in the exhibition. These artworks were selected from 200 submissions by juror Joanne Bauer, Curator at Greater Reston Arts Center, who will also be in attendance.
