About This Event

In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) hosts 40 free events in 40 days running January 4 through February 12, 2012 at 545 7th Street, SE. The 40 events explore how art continually engages, inspires, informs, and excites by featuring concerts, performances, workshops, and classes for various ages. The program culminates in a 40th Anniversary Concert on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church (4th and Independence, SE).

“This event is not only a thank you to the community and a celebration of 40 years of art-making, but a launching off point for future innovations in building community through the arts,” says Amy Moore, CHAW’s Director of Education and Programs. “It is a testament to the arts, not as a luxury or something optional, but as a lifestyle.”

A complete catalogue of the 40 free events is attached. Pre-registration is required for some events. To register, please visit CHAW’s website at www.chaw.org or call (202) 547-6839.
