About This Event
Parisa Tirnaz was born and raised on the shores of the Caspian Sea. As a child, Tirnaz was captivated by the colors and shapes of her surroundings, which inspired her interest in art. Tirnaz, a self taught artist, started her career in painting in 2006. After living and working on the East Coast, and traveling throughout the Southern and Midwestern United States, Tirnaz was inspired to paint the subtle beauty of the vast natural American landscape. With an impressionistic style and minimalist approach, Tirnaz paints the scenes of prairies, green mountains, rivers, lakes and farms that haunt her creative spirit. Tirnaz has participated in numerous juried shows in the local DC and Virginia area.
Artist Statement:
Plain, undisciplined, open space with subdued earth colors, define the structure of my landscapes.
Using a limited palette, my paintings are an exercising process of achieving harmony aiming to reward the viewers with just enough captured, and to create the impression of a minimalist yet realistic approach.
As in a quote by Rembrandt “Choose only one master, Nature” I find a strong desire and fulfillment to sketch the mountains, rivers and trees and feel rewarded by swinging the brush strokes across the canvas to satisfy my inner sense of creativity.
