About This Event

The Global Poverty Project (GPP) will once again be hitting the road in early 2012 for our annual 1.4 Billion Reasons tour, bringing the 1.4 Billion Reasons presentation to universities, high schools, churches and many other organizations across the country.

Much like an "Inconvenient Truth" and Ted Talks, 1.4 Billion Reasons is a world-class multimedia presentation that explains the reality facing the 1.4 billion people currently living in extreme poverty, and provides audiences with the information and tools they need to take effective action against extreme poverty. The presentation is structured around five key questions:

-What is extreme poverty?
-Can we do anything about it?
-What are the barriers to ending extreme poverty?
-Why should we care?
-What can we do?

From New York and Chicago to Seattle and Los Angeles, 11,000 people across the United States have seen it so far, and with your help, we are upping our goal for this year: 100 presentations in 100 days, reaching 20,000 people.

Our aim: to activate the next generation of leaders in the fight against extreme poverty.

All of us at the Global Poverty Project would love to have you as a partner in this mission by providing a forum for public education and action. None of what we do would be possible without the support of institutions like yours, which provide a crucial outlet for us to engage the next generation of leaders here in the United States.
