About This Event

Dandies & Quaintrelles is pleased to announce the Crystal City Diamond Derby. We’ve teamed up with the Crystal City Business Improvement District, Vornado/ Charles E. Smith and Sciathan Productions to bring you something entirely new.This unique cycling event is born from the idea of an alternative competitive cycling event that is free spirited, fun and imaginative. On Saturday, March 10 riders of all abilities will be able to test their skills on an indoor cycling course in a transformed underground parking garage. Our River Ride will take cruise along the Potomac and into Crystal City for another adventure that celebrates our love for style, bikes and great times.

You’ll have the chance to test your skills as a solo rider and collect as many diamonds in as many laps as possible during a 20 minute heat. You can form a team with 3 of your friends for a relay competition. If you’ve been riding for years and desire to show off your speed and advanced bike handling skills, the 4 X comps is for you!

D&Q River Ride and the Diamond Derby Party
The River Ride is D&Q’s first winter ride and will take participants out of DC and into Crystal City. The look is urban- functional, contemporary and edgy. If you bike in style every time you get around the city, show us how you do it during our river ride. Let us know that you are interested in joining us by registering for a free ticket to receive information updates. Entrance to the Diamond Derby Party is also free. Enjoy food, drink and music while you watch your friends compete!

Diamond Derby – Open Class Competition
Riders will compete against the course in 20-minute heats, dodging obstacles and collecting as many laps and diamonds as they can! The field will be open to 200 riders. Prizes will be awarded to the top 10 women, men and children competing!

Diamond Derby Team Competition – (4 riders)
High-spirited relay rounds will pit registered teams against one another in all-out sprints for swag and glory! Teams will compete head-to-head with top teams advancing to the finals. Maximum field is twelve teams of four riders. Bonus prizes will be awarded to the best costumes!
4X Comps
Four-X Comps pits the hard-core amateurs and the wily vets against the cycling elite in head-to-head four-lap heats around the Gran Premio course. Top finishers in each 4-lap heat will continue to advance until the grand finale! Daredevils and speed demons need apply! Maximum participants in this event are 120 riders
