SUMMARY:Opening: Scents and Medical Sensibility
LOCATION:The Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery\n1632 U Street NW\nWashington\, District Of Columbia 20009
DESCRIPTION:Scents & Medical Sensibility\n\nCurated by Kóan Jeff Baysa\, MD\n\nOpening Reception: Thursday\, March 11\, 6-8pm\n\nHave you ever pondered how the olfactory sense affects visual perception\, or how a scent can evoke a dormant childhood memory? In this unconventional exhibition international curator\, art critic and clinical allergist\, Dr. Kóan Jeff Baysa\, asks artists and fragrance researchers to explore how the physical self experiences and knows the world through the sense of smell. So by trading in their paints for aromatic oils and fragrances the participating artists transform the traditional gallery into an olfactory lab\, where visitors directly experience the connection between physical health and visual aesthetics. \n\nExhibiting Artists: Peter Hopkins\, Mathias Kessler\, Josee Lepage\, Anne McClain\,\n\nGayil Nalls\, Carrie Paterson\, Jiayi Young\, Shih-Wen Young\, & Tobias Wong\n\nHi-resolution images are available upon request\, gallery@smithfarm.com.\n\nGallery Hours: WED-FRI 11AM-5PM\, SAT 11AM-3PM & by appointment \n\nThe Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery at Smith Farm Center\n\n1632 U St. NW\n\nWashington\, DC 20009\n\n(202)483-8600\n\ngallery@smithfarm.com\n\nwww.smithfarm.com/gallery
