The tiny ukulele is packing big pop culture punch and experiencing a huge revival—this summer, Strathmore is taking audiences back to where the quirky uke got its start with a Hawaiian luau-themed blowout on the lawn. Grammy winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer are leading the charge of local uke aficionados and a cadre of Hawaiian strummers, such as the Hula Honeys and the Beamers, making rare East Coast appearances. 2012 also features the new UkeCamp for beginners and experts to hone their skills.
