Timothy Makepeace: "Industrial Sentinels"

About This Event

Timothy Makepeace's recent artistic focus has been on what he calls "Industrial Sentinels which stem from his long-time interest in large industrial infrastructure. The work aims to highlight the iconic and visual impact of industrial structures on our landscape, and the interplay of architecture and nature. All the works are large-scale photographs that have been manipulated in various ways. In some work, Makepeace has applied oxideized iron powder treated with patina chemicals to the surface of the piece, to help evoke the visual, tactile, and atmospheric experience of the dynamic forces revealed by the presence of industrial structures in the natural environment.
