About This Event
Amid the devastation of the apocalypse, survivors are having a little trouble letting go... Day spa, anyone? Group therapy? And what about DIY? As self-obsessed as ever, their new world’s an inventive and hilarious culture of denial... and mutant cockroaches. Watch our heroes struggle to hang on to the civilization they once knew and ponder, in their own ways, the eternal question: Can humanity survive? With cameos by Jesus and Superman.
Running time: 50 minutes.

Orbit Chef is a DC-based sketch-comedy troupe founded in 2011. ‘Apocalypse Picnic’ is the follow-up to their successful December production, ‘Holiday Buffet,’ and their run as a featured act in The Comedy Spot’s Tiger’s Blood Theater show. The ensemble includes Matt Fogarty, Derek Hills, Stephanie Svec, and Amelia Vogel, all graduates of the Washington Improv Theater's (WIT) improv training and sketch-writing curricula, and Jason Pittman, stand-up comic and all-around swell guy. Each is a veteran member of DC’s theater, storytelling, and comedy communities.
This production is presented as a part of the 2012 Capital Fringe Festival, a program of the Washington, DC non-profit Capital Fringe.
