About This Event
Transformer wraps up our summer programming with ReMixed Messages (July 24 - August 4, 2012), co-produced with NY based Visual AIDS, and presented at our Logan Circle neighbor Fathom Gallery (an off-shoot project of Fathom Creative). Nearly two years after Transformer's leadership in addressing the Smithsonian Institute's censorship of artist David Wojnarowicz's work as part of the Hide/Seek exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, we are thrilled to play a role in presenting work by Wojnarowicz in DC as part of this timely exhibition. Presented in tandem with the 2012 International AIDS Conference at the DC Convention Center, and the display of the AIDS quilt on the mall, ReMixed Messages curated by John Chaich, is a phenomenal exhibition featuring both emerging and established artists exploring HIV/AIDS through text-based work.
