About This Event
Please join us for the opening reception of EXCHANGE, a new exhibition series featuring local creatives with various backgrounds, invited to curate an exhibition of works that inspire, inform, or reflect their own creative process. Project 4 will invite choreographers, actors, chefs, architects, and other creative professionals to express their ideas through the visual arts. Through an interconnecting of artistic disciplines and mediums we will bring together a diverse group of individuals in a forum to showcase innovative new artists and create a dialogue on what constitutes art.
Our first guest curator in the series, will be will be storyteller, actor, and writer, Sheldon Scott. Scott will select work from local photographers, Josh Cogan, Bill Crandall, Jati Lindsay, Caitlin Price, Messay Shoakena, and Sam Vasfi. He will then combine his own art of storytelling by crafting narratives from each photograph exploring the cooperative effects of verbal and visual representation.
The opening will take place on Saturday, July 21, 7:00-9:30 with a performance at 8:30pm. The exhibition will be on view from July 21 – August 11, 2012. Project 4 is located at 1353 U Street NW, Suite 302, Washington, DC 20009.
