MS. FRIDRICH - 10:30pm

The Sweater Set is Maureen Andary & Sara Curtin and they play "an intimidating number of instruments." - The Washington Post. www.thesweaterset.com

LURAY is the indie rock creation of banjo player and singer Shannon Carey. The sound alternates between hypnotic instrumental runs and ear-catching vocal hooks, with bursts of classic country and folk—a mixture akin to Wye Oak, St. Vincent, Imogen Heap, and Emmylou Harris. This is a reinvention of the banjo, in production to become a full-length album produced by her brother, Sean Carey (of S. Carey and Bon Iver). The album, to be released in 2012, features a number of musicians from across the S. Carey/Bon Iver universe.

MS. FRIDRICH is wind farms across Kansas, dissonant pop music, old pianos in used book stores, and spontaneous mountain dance parties make us want to sing and play drums in public squares and Ethiopian restaurants.
