About This Event
Have you ever wondered about the origins of motifs and details on buildings we pass by every day? Many have their origins in the classical. Calder Loth, Senior Architectural Historian of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources (semi-retired), and co-curator of the exhibition, Palladio and His Legacy, a Transatlantic Journey, will trace the ancient sources of common building design elements, explaining why they look the way they do. The lecture will serve to train the eye to appreciate the stories these features have to tell.
