About This Event

Touching on poverty, immigration, religion, father/son relationships, and celebrity, Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story is the multi-platinum musician, producer, and actor’s revelation-filled memoir.

Born and raised in Haiti until moving to New York at age nine, Wyclef discusses his experiences as an outsider and as a translator for his parents. He struggled with English but in high school found the perfect way to learn it: by rapping. At church, he learned to play instruments that would forever shape his sound and interest in hip hop, rock, and jazz.

In Purpose, Wyclef gives the inside story of The Fugees. He also reflects on his commitment to helping rebuild Haiti, as well as his exploratory bid for president of the island nation. Wyclef will be interviewed on stage, with the interviewer to be announced soon.

This event is just one of a few events on Wyclef’s book tour where he will perform a set of his latest music! Book signing to follow.

Admission: Tickets are $35 and include 1 copy of the book. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling TicketFly (877.435.9849). There is a $1.50 fee per ticket for phone orders. Doors open at 6:30 pm
