Repertory Class: Twenty-Three Small Interruptions

About This Event

Join Daniel Burkholder/The PlayGround as they create Twenty-Three Small Interruptions, an evening of “pop-up” performances for Dance Place’s 35th Spotlight Gala Celebration. Throughout the night The PlayGround and the Repertory class will stage guerilla-style performances throughout Dance Place as we ‘infuse’ the evening with dance and movement. Some of these “pop-up” performances will be large, fully-athletic dance phrases, while others will be more subtle “subliminal” events. Combing choreographed phrases and improvisational structures, students will have an opportunity to explore multiple movement approaches while creating a unique, memorable performance event.

This 6-week repertory class culminates in a site-specific performance as part of the 35th Spotlight Gala Performance at Dance Place on October 20th. Dancers must be available for performance as well as extra rehearsals Sunday, October 14 (11am-2pm) and Friday, October 19 (6:30-9:30pm).
