Jessica Philie:
Jessica Philie is a founding member of the DC Guerrilla Poetry Insurgency (GPI) and hosts their open mic every third Tuesday at Bossa in Adams Morgan. She has lived in DC for 17 years and is a member of the small business community. Jessica loves NPR and follows politics, which gives her fodder for many pieces and a headache. She thinks everyone should practice an art form and rhythm connects us all. (http://www.guerrillapoets.org/)
Star FK Radium:
Star FK Radium is a trio of classical violin, acoustic rock guitar and drumline-influenced percussion; a modern interpretation of the chamber music tradition. Star FK Radium creates a chamber rock experience that journeys through expansive, sorrowful landscapes that are powerfully emotional. Their sophomore release Solitude Rotation builds upon their 2010 debut Blue Siberia, expanding the window into worlds undiscovered, yet so personal a wave of deja vu is stirred, a yearning for some sacred world you'd thought long since passed. Lindsey Golden:
The Lindsey Golden Project is a window into the creative mind of a dancer, writer, musician, and lover. It includes a detailed calendar of dance and music events, as well as new poetry, dance blogs, video links to past performances, and several photo galleries to enjoy. All are welcome to write inquires about artistic collaboration, choreography, personal training, fitness & yoga lessons, or general dance questions. Feel free to read more information about Ms. Golden's contemporary dance companies, professional membership with Dance Baltimore, musical compositions with composer Seth Milder, or solo dance projects performed for parties, weddings, and other large social events. Additionally, each month selections from Ms. Golden's book, "Poetry Through the Eyes of a Dreamer," will be presented in the "Lindsey's Thoughts "blog.
Ilana Silverstein:
A video will be shown by Ilana Silverstein who is a dance artist and community organizer in Washington, DC. She is a founder of the band Tia Nina and a founding ensemble member of force/collision. Ilana has performed with Dance Box Theater, Daniel Burkholder, Yoko K. and other artists in the D.C. area. Her work challenges the contrasts between the elegant, the grotesque, the organic and the digital. As a resident artist at Georgetown Hospital, she guides patients through relaxing imagery and staff through short stretching breaks, applying dance in practical ways to enhance quality of life. She has been presented by the Philly Fringe Festival, Gaia in Washington DC, and the Source Festival. She holds a B.A. in Dance and Environmental studies from Denison University and is currently pursuing her MFA in Dance at George Washington University. (www.ilanaspace.com)
