About This Event
Curator's Office is delighted to open the fall season with internationally acclaimed artist Jiha Moon's 4th solo exhibition. The artist will be present.
In a nod to globalism gone wild, and aesthetic traditions butting up against experimental and hybrid approaches, Jiha Moon will present discrete works in a riotously colored and textured installation. "Souvenir Valise" evokes the idea of a magical and constantly moving suitcase exploding with memories, fragments, and objects.
Her work continues to evolve physically and conceptually as she introduces fabricated and found collage elements from a variety of cultural sources and folkloric practices both from her native Korea and farther afield. Her maximalist aesthetic sensibility conjures the spirit of our overly complex and image saturated times.
