About This Event

On September 14, 2012, two exciting and distinct exhibitions will open at Honfleur Gallery; Arie Mandelbaum’s "Love & Rage", and Katherine Tzu-Lan Mann’s "Unquiet Kingdom".

Downstairs, Mandelbaum’s latest series "Love & Rage" depicts scenes the artist observed in Anacostia during a six-week residency in the neighborhood earlier this summer. The 13 large-scale artworks in the show were created with his signature medley of tempera and mixed media on paper or canvas. Upstairs, Mann’s "Unquiet Kingdom" crawls up and hangs from the ceilings. These new site-specific installation paintings, in Sumi ink and acrylic on paper, mimic their own imagery of contained chaos through their placement in the gallery.
