When it comes to soulful, danceable, rockin’ roots music, there’s nothing like a night with Nathan Williams + the Zydeco Cha Chas. Flowing through Nathan Williams’ veins are the rhythms of Zydeco, the fast and furious accordion-driven dance music of the Creole people of South Louisiana. From studio to stage, the Zydeco Cha Chas – their name deriving from both the great Zydeco King Clifton Chenier’s bluesy song about hard times and one of his many funky instrumentals – are widely revered for their versatility and soulful approaches to ballads, waltzes, two-steps, shuffles and flat-out boogie tunes. The band Triage will kick-off the night with an opening set in the Lower Town Hall at 8pm.
