About This Event
Rethinking Tradition: Contemporary Design in Mexico will present over 200 objects created by the most talented and innovative designers in Mexico today. The recent boom in the creative industries has transformed urban centers into artistic labs, and this exhibition celebrates the landscape of Mexico City where a dynamic, cosmopolitan and ever-changing urbanity inspires a new generation of artisans in infinite ways. This exhibition will show how contemporary designers often seek to integrate social, economic and environmental elements through the use of varied objects and materials to create unique products. Seen as a social process and instrument for integration, contemporary design has also re-appropriated traditional methods of Mexican handicrafts and added inspiring modern touches.
Gallery Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm; Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm
