About This Event
Delicious Spectacle is pleased to announce its next exhibition Zac Willis: Trophy Room. Zac Willis’ work is autobiographical in excess, particularly in documentation. Willis collects personal objects, ideas, and experiences—their physical display is not only a showcase of his identity, but also of the surfeit nature of American capitalist culture and its effect on him as an individual and member of the art community.
Willis is an avid toy collector. His collection is an amalgamation of skill, dexterity, and location—engrained in him from years of exposure to hunting in Southwest Missouri. Trophy Room combines these two elements—toys and hunting—into an all-encompassing installation. Viewers will gaze upon Willis’ Trophy Room with curiosity, awe, and amusement.
Delicious Spectacle is a curatorial experiment and project space founded by Victoria Greising, Megan Mueller, Dan Perkins, Camden Place, and Sam Scharf. The space was founded for the growing community of emerging artists and artist run spaces in the District of Columbia. Throughout the year, Delicious Spectacle will curate multi-disciplinary exhibitions, host lectures, critiques, and critical theory discussions. This programing attempts to cultivate dialogue surrounding a wide variety of contemporary art making practices and operates as a space for artists and curators to execute novel and challenging projects that redefine and further their thinking.
