About This Event
Beginning Thursday, December 6, National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink introduces the new evening event “DJs in the Garden: Spin, Cut & Groove.” Keep warm on the ice every Thursday night from 6:00–9:00 p.m. through February 28 while a DJ spins popular music from the 1960s, '70s, '80s, and '90s, including a wide range of musical styles such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Disco, Pop, Rock and Roll, and Soul. Skaters may make requests to guest DJs and twirl across the ice to their favorite tunes.
The experience of skating in the Sculpture Garden, surrounded by the grand architecture of national museums and monuments, is enhanced by views of splendid large-scale sculptures by such post–World War II artists as Louise Bourgeois, Alexander Calder, Roy Lichtenstein, Roxy Paine, Tony Smith, and others from the Gallery’s renowned collection. The Pavilion Café will offer a gourmet espresso and hot chocolate bar, complete with toppings, liqueurs, and biscotti. The ice rink is located on the National Mall between 7th and 9th Streets along Constitution Avenue NW.
