About This Event

We’re having Beat Club at a new all-ages venue in the District. It’s a fundraiser for Words Beats & Life. This one is open to anyone. Come and play!

Beat Club uses the same digital instruments used by professional DJs around the world. Digital instruments are a unique development in the history of musical instruments. Analog instruments such as a trumpet or a guitar have limitations: a trumpet can only sound like a trumpet; a guitar can only sound like a guitar. Digital instruments can create millions of sounds.

Even better, digital instruments can be triggered by a touch of your finger. You don’t have to press a fret or wet a reed. You just run your finger across a pad. The common barriers to playing an instrument are dissolved.

Beat Club is based on the idea that everyone - not just trained musicians- can experience the joy of playing music.
