About This Event

For the first time, Folger Theatre is presenting Shakespeare’s epic war story HENRY V. Directed by Robert Richmond (who staged Henry VIII and last season’s Othello at the Folger), the production will star Zach Appelman (War Horse on Broadway) as the young king looking to seize the throne of France against a superior French force. The cast will also include Richard Sheridan Willis, Louis Butelli, Katie deBuys, James Keegan, and Catherine Flye, among others.

Having just gone through another critical election year, this seems like the perfect time to mount this tale of leadership and ambition, with Shakespeare’s history play tackling the timeless themes of a nation dealing with the after-effects and casualties of war…galvanizing behind their leader for the greater good.
