Opening at Gallery Plan B(1530 14th St.) and on view through August 29th, with a reception to meet the artists the next evening, Thursday, the 29 *6-8pm), will be their new show, “Take You Home” featuring the oil paintings of Jason Wright and Mike Weber. Weber uses iconic, recognizable, comforting photographic images as a departure point, enhancing them with drawing, paint and texture, all layered beneath a unifying surface of glossy, appealing and impenetrable resin. Wright, in his new body of work being shown, returns to oil painting in a pure form — thick, juicy strokes of almost monochromatic paint create a vast and expressive sky over minimal shelter forms, juxtaposing dramatic fluidity and rigid construction.
