(e)merge art fair is an international fair with DC flair

Less than two weeks before the (e)merge art fair kicks off on Thursday September 22 at the Capitol Skyline Pool with a concert by the pool featuring LouLou and the Disappointer Sisters (including members of Thievery Corporation, Fugazi, French Toast and The Deadmen).  Wow, that certainly sets the tone for what looks to be a pretty exciting international art fair with lots of DC influence.

I'm especially excited about the programming!  Particularly the mapping project that Licky McSpitty Studios and HacDC.org have been working on. Anyone in the world can be part of (e)merge by putting themselves on the map. Try it HERE!

Also super stoked for all the performances that will take place throughout the weekend.  Some of DC's best performance artists will be there, and a few surprises from artists I hadn't seen doing performance before.  Woot! A complete schedule of performances HERE.

I'm wondering who is going to dominate the Triathlon of the Muses between Jeffry Cudlin and Kathryn Cornelius. The trash talk is heating up over on Twitter. You can follow the "friendly" competition at @TeamCudlin and @TeamCornelius. I've been watching their training reports to determine who I'll bet on when game day arrives Saturday, September 24. Cornelius has a bit of a head start having been training with CrossFit for a while (I went with her once and nearly puked). Cudlin has longer legs and arms so I suppose he has a slight physical advantage. I just hope whatever he wears to compete in will cover all his body parts.
